The adhesive strength of EVA glass interlayer film is very important for laminated glass. The adhesion will affect the safety of laminated glass and the delamination of laminated glass.
Following factors will influence the adhesion of EVA glass interlayer film:
1-The type of EVA glass interlayer film
Generally speaking, the super-transparent EVA glass interlayer film is stronger in adhesion than the normal transparent EVA glass interlayer film. The outdoor type EVA glass interlayer film is stronger in adhesion than the indoor decoration type of EVA glass interlayer film.
2-The manufacturer of the EVA glass interlayer film
Because different EVA glass interlayer film manufacturer has different formula of producing EVA glass interlayer film. So the adhesion of the EVA glass interlayer film will be different.
3-Heating temperature and time of the EVA glass interlayer film
When laminating the EVA glass interlayer film, the heating temperature and the holding time will affect the cross link reaction and coupling reaction, which will lead to the adhesive strength of the EVA glass interlayer film.
4-The heating time of laminating EVA glass interlayer film
The heating time must be long enough for the cross link reaction and coupling reaction to be fulfilled completely.
5-The storage of the EVA glass interlayer film
If you open the package of the EVA glass interlayer film, then don’t use up and not repacked, the left EVA glass interlayer film may absorb some moisture, which will do harm to the adhesion strength.
If the EVA glass interlayer film is expired (beyond the self life), the adhesion of EVA glass interlayer film may be declined.
Please repack the unfinished roll well to avoid dust and moisture. Make sure you use the EVA glass interlayer film within the self life, and store the EVA glass interlayer film in good condition, and following the “first in first out” rule of storage.

The viscosity of EVA interlayer film is lower than PVB interlayer film (polyvinyl butyral ), which makes EVA film is best for laminating uneven surface sheets, like tempered glasses, or other polymer sheet materials (PVC, PET, Polycarbonate, Acryle, etc.)
The reason is that, due to low viscosity, melted EVA Film is easy to flow over every places of the surface of the laminating sheet to fill the uneven gaps, which will reduce the possibility of bubbles and increase the adhesive strength because more place of glass surface(or other materials sheets) have been coupled by EVA Film.
