EVA Interlayer Film and PVB Interlayer Film are both used to make
safety laminated glass. PVB Interlayer Films have been used to make
laminated glass far before EVA Interlayer Films have been used to make
laminated glass.

Delamination of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Laminated Glass

Reason one:
The heating temperature or time is not enough. Please consult about
processing instruction with Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Film
manufacturer.

Reason two:
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Film is out of self-life, please use
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Film before expiration. Please confirm with
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Film manufacturer how long the self-life
is.

Reason three:
The glass surface is not clean, maybe you use some organic water to
wash the glass, make sure the glass surface is clean and dry.

Reason four:
Moisture in the glass surface or Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA Film or
environment is too much. Please dry it before lamination. Or prolong
the low-temperature heating time.

Reason five:
If the lamination takes place in some part of laminated glass, maybe
it due to the sweat on the hand of worker, please make sure the worker
is wearing gloves.

8 Steps Operation Instruction of EVA Vacuum Glass Laminating Machine

(Notes: the following is a general guide, there is no guarantee that
they are all correct or suits your laminating machine. So if you have
doubts please feel free to contact us. )

1.
Prepare the glasses, Better use edging machine to edge the glasses.

2.
Prepare same size glasses, pay attention to the four corners, it must
be edging like round arc, to avoid breaking the silicone vacuum bag,
wash the glass with washing machine, better be air-dried, this is very
important to avoid bubbles inside laminated glass.

3.
Cutting Eva film, cut the EVA film a little larger than the two
glasses(about 2mm lager).

4.
Lie down one glass on the working table, put EVA film onto it, and
also put the other decorative materials(if necessary), then put
another glass onto it, cut out the rest EVA film and decorative
materials, stick the 4 corners then.

5.
Put sandwiched glass into the silicone vacuum bag, put the sandwiched
glass onto the vacuum iron table, you should leave 1cm distance
between the sandwiched glasses. After finishing this, connecting the
vacuum pipe, as picture blow.

6.
Start vacuum pump, first check the wire connecting of the vacuum pump
right or wrong, then start the vacuum pump, when the vacuum indicator
shows lower than -0.1MPA and become steady, close the door, and wait
till to finish the whole process.

7.
Control process setting: first set the technology data to the control
plane, as picture below:

After processing is finished, then open the door, temperature lower
sharply, when the temperature lower to 80~90℃, use fan to blow wind
into the machine to fasten cooling, the temperature under 40℃~50℃,
then stop the lower temperature process, take out the glass. During
lowering the temperature procedure, please don’t close the vacuum
pump.

How to Check the Properties of Laminating Machine?

1) How many beds (layers) inside the machine?

Some glass laminating machine manufacturer produces machine with only
one bed. But some manufacture the machine with two or more laminating
beds. You can choose the kind that is suitable for you.

2) The heating pipe
Where is the heating pipe and how much power of the heating pipe? The
power of the heating pipe usually is 2400 w. If the power of the
heating pipe is too low, than it would takes long time to produce the
laminated glass, and the producing efficiency is low. If the power of
the heating pipe is too high, it’s easy to cause the bubbles of the
laminating glass.

3)Is the fan-well-proportioned heating?

This is very important. If the glass laminating machine is the
fan-well-proportioned heating, the temperature of inside the oven is
average, which is best for glass laminating.

4) Silicon bag
The place of the vacuuming hole of the silicon bag and how is the
silicon bag be sealed when laminating.

5) Vacuuming Pump
This part mainly effect whether the bubbles come inside laminating
glass. It is separated in to the water-cooled and oil-cooled. Please
pay attention to whether the vacuuming ability is high enough.

6)The temperature detector
Where is the detector putted? On the surface of the silicon bag or
inside the silicon bag? Usually it is on the surface of the silicon
bag. The place the detector is putted may cause the difference between
the temperature you read and the real temperature of the laminated
glass.

7)Laminating the EVA FILM and PVB FILM at the same machine
Some China glass laminating manufacturer has invented a machine which
can laminated with EVA FILM and PVB FILM.

When the Switchable Transparent Laminated Glass(Glass+EVA Film+Switchable Film+EVA Film+Glass)

Why Switchable Film Break When Laminating with Glass and EVA Interlayer Film?

Wrong Concept:
Some customers made the Smart Glass with EVA Interlayer Film, and the
Switchable Transparent Film break away it self, so he asks EVA
Interlayer Film Manufacturers whether the EVA Interlayer Film produce
some chemical substance that cause the Switchable Transparent Film
breaking away itself?

Composition Of Switchable Film:
The answer is no. So then what is the real why? Because the Switchable
Transparent Film itself is a laminated Film.
Composition of Switchable Transparent Film:

The polymer and the liquid crystals are encapsulated in the Switchable
Transparent Film. Both faces of the film are covered with a
transparent, ITO coating. Both ITO coatings are connected to a flat
electrical busbar, which is fixed on one of the edges of the film.

Reason Why Switchable Film Delamination
When the Switchable Transparent Laminated Glass(Glass+EVA
Film+Switchable Film+EVA Film+Glass) is being heated and then cooled,
the EVA Interlayer Film, Glass and Switchable Transparent Film will
follow the Expand from Heat and Contract from Cold rule.

But Switchable Transparent Film is WEAKER in the Expand from Heat and
Contract from Cold than the EVA Interlayer Film. And also the adhesive
strength between the EVA Interlayer Film and Switchable Transparent
Film is harder than the adhesive strength between the layers inside
the Switchable Transparent Film itself. And the adhesive strength
between the EVA Interlayer Film and glasses is harder than the
adhesive strength between the layers inside the Switchable Transparent
Film itself. That’s the reason why the Switchable Transparent Film
Break away When Laminating with Glass and EVA Interlayer Film,It’s the
EVA Film Shrinkage that break away the Switchable Film.

How to Solve:
1.Find a better supplier of EVA Film, whose EVA Film is less in Shrinkage rate.
2. Some EVA Interlayer Film Manufacturers have made the
low-temperature (about 80-85 degree) processing EVA Interlayer Film
dedicated for making Switchable Transparent Laminated Glass.
With using the low-temperature-processing EVA Interlayer Film, you can
solve this problem.
